WHEEL of ARTS CLASSES

I had a lot of fun with the curriculum that I created when I taught in a school for the gifted. I called the program THE WHEEL of ARTS. The kids were doing all sorts of creative stuff. I have videos of some of their presentations. I often wonder where those kids are now and what they have done with their lives.
Sometimes when I filmed them, I laughed so hard I could hardly hold the camera. They made their own theatres out of boxes (we sure went through a lot of tape and glue), and acted out the stories and plays they had written.
There were commercials that they wrote that would compete with any comics. Of course they tore into the costumes I had brought from home. I remember a certain tie that they all liked and would grab the first thing after coming into the room in case they needed it. My classes lasted for 2 1/2 hrs. That wasn't really long enough to do all the presentations - I had to continue those in the next session.
Junk jewelry was very popluar too, even with the boys.
I really miss those kids and if I had the chance I would start a program in my area.
